West End Planning Process
In September 2024, the Johnstown Housing Authority (JHA) received a Choice Neighborhood Planning Grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development. This grant allows for the revitalization of the West End in collaboration with the community, local organizations, and resources. The Choice Neighborhood team will work closely with community members to develop a project that fosters a welcoming environment for all, while authentically representing the history of Johnstown.
The plan will focus on modernizing housing conditions at Coopersdale Community and the broader West End neighborhood with different types of investment, economic development, and growth.
There will be many opportunities for individuals, families, and community stakeholders to share their thoughts, ideas, and concerns. Stay tune for future updates such as community events, meetings, and activities!
The plan will look at existing conditions for the West End as outlined in the planning area, with an emphasis on the Johnstown Housing Authority’s Coopersdale neighborhood.
